Community Sanitation Overview:

Most homes haul treated well water from the washeteria/fire station or the school. Outhouses and honeybuckets are used for sewage disposal. All homes lack plumbing facilities. A feasibility study and master plan is underway to examine infrastructure alternatives. The landfill is located at mi. 156.5 Steese Hwy. Electricity is provided by Circle Electric Inc.

There are currently no RUBA projects taking place in Circle. Circle water and wastewater utilities are managed by Arctic Resource Group, LLC based in Fairbanks. In spring of 2013 the core area of circle was flooded by the Yukon River.

Circle Village Council/Circle Native Community is on the Lien Watch publication for August 2013 issued by the Division of Community and Regional Affairs for IRS reports and past due amounts from 2000 through 2005. Circle has recently paid off or been forgiven $200,000 of their debts to the IRS, and owes approximately $66,000.
