Re: Residual
Market Application Fee
In a circular
dated August 14, 2000, the National Council on Compensation Insurance,
Inc. (NCCI) notified insurance producers of changes in the RMAPS
Online Application Service. This circular stated that the RMAPS
Online Application Service is a free service to insurance producers
who submit business to the workers’ compensation residual market
by the Internet, but, beginning September 18, 2000, any application
submitted to NCCI by mail or telephone would be subject to a $45
application processing fee.
The division
has received questions from insurance producers about this application
fee. NCCI has informed the division that it will not assess an application
fee on residual market applications that are submitted by mail or
telephone. NCCI will refund any fees that it has already collected.
