For applicants applying for Certification by Examination as a Direct-Entry Midwife (form #08-4215), the applicant must meet the application requirements and pass the examination required in 12 AAC 14.300.
The examination required for certification as a direct-entry midwife is the national examination prepared and graded by the North American Registry of Midwives (NARM). The NARM exam is offered two times per year on the third Wednesday in February and August of each year in Anchorage, Fairbanks and Juneau.
Applications to take the Northern American Registry of Midwives Examination (NARM) must be received in the division Juneau office at least 60 days before the date of the examination for which you are applying.

To be considered for examination, the following documents must be received by the deadline date:
- Items 1 - 3 (A&B), 4 and 5 listed on the front cover sheet of the examination application (form #08-4215).
- Academic Program Completion form completed by preceptor (form 08-4215b).
Instructions for registering with NARM will be sent to applicants upon Board approval of examination application. The examination fee of $700.00 must be paid directly to NARM. |
