State Reciprocity Waiver The exam requirement is waived when you apply for an Alaska resident license within 90 days of canceling a resident license in another state with the same lines of authority. You will need to take the appropriate exams to add additional lines of authority. Limited Lines Licenses No exam is required for motor vehicle rental agency, travel, or portable electronics producer licenses. Submit Fingerprints and Fee Submit one fingerprint card, with a $48.25 fee for background check payable to the State of Alaska, to our mailing address at bottom of this page. Change Resident State to Alaska If you are moving to Alaska, hold a resident license in another state, and do not have an Alaska nonresident license: Cancel previous resident license or change to nonresident status.
