Regulation of Mechanical Administrators The Division of Corporations, Business and Professional Licensing staffs the mechanical administrator program. The Department of Commerce, Community, and Economic Development adopts regulations to carry out laws governing mechanical administrators in Alaska. It makes final licensing decisions and takes disciplinary actions against people who violate licensing laws. Plumbers are regulated by the Department of Labor, Labor Standards and Safety, Mechanical Inspection Section. Due to a heavy volume of renewal activities, processing time for renewal applications received by mail may take up to 4-6 weeks. If not, please create an account. You will be redirected to the MY LICENSE customer home page. To renew your license, simply select the license you wish to renew from the Professional Licensing section. The following information must be provided in the body of your email: NAME: The name used when your professional license was last issued or renewed. LICENSE NUMBER: Your professional license number. SEND TO: Provide both the Board and/or Agency name along with a complete mailing address. Payment of Fees You will be sent a notification email with a link to your license details page. A “Make a Payment” link will be available within your license details page under “Actions”. A $20 filing fee is required for each verification of license. Completed Request You will be sent a notification email with a link to your license details page when the request is completed. Please allow up to 10 business days for processing after submitting your payment. If you prefer to submit a check or money order, you may mail in the Request License Verification form. Lunch will include a hard sell for expensive home improvements such as insulation, roofing, or driveway paving. Local officials have identified free lunch events in Mat-Su that are parting elderly homeowners with their hard earned dollars. Remember that when contractors are meeting you at a restaurant, it may mean that they have no local licenses or business presence. If something goes wrong with their work, they will be long gone and it will cost you even more to fix the problem. Be wary of door-to-door solicitations as well as invitations to a free lunch. If you need repairs to your home, do your research and use a reliable, local contractor licensed to do business in Alaska.
