Board of Certified Direct-Entry Midwives Board Disciplinary Actions The Board may impose a disciplinary sanction on a person holding a certificate or permit under AS 08.65 or 12 AAC 14 if the Board finds that the person has violated any of the provisions in these chapters. One role of the Board includes the duty to enforce the statutes and regulations. They may hold hearings and order the disciplinary sanctions as needed. Sec. 08.65.110. APPLICATION MADE UNDER OATH OR AFFIRMATION; DISCIPLINARY SANCTIONS. On April 26, 1994 the Board of Certified Direct-Entry Midwives adopted a code of ethics. The ethics can be read under Appendix B of the statutes and regulations. Ethics # 4 - The midwifery profession should safeguard the public and itself against midwives deficient in moral character or professional competence. Midwives should observe all laws, uphold the dignity and honor of the profession and accept its self-imposed disciplines.
