Real Estate Commission Our Mission The mission of the Alaska Real Estate Commission is to protect the public interest by licensing practitioners and enforcing the established standards, to promote professional excellence in the real estate industry, and to support and encourage licensees. How to Reinstate a Lapsed License Licensees who did not renew by 1/31/2026 are now in Lapsed status and will need to reinstate their license if they want to continue to practice real estate. There is no grace period - it is illegal to work or conduct real estate activities when their license is in a LAPSED status. To reinstate your license, you will need to submit to our office either by fax, or US Mail: Complete Reinstatement Application, pages 1-4 Employing Broker Information page HERE Copy of your 20 hrs. of Continuing Education certificates for 2024-2026. This LINK indicates the 8 hours DCE (designated continuing education) topics you will need to complete as well as the 12 hours of ECE (elective continuing education). Verification of E & O Insurance; and Fee of $310.00, ($120.00 renewal fee, $50.00 recovery fund fee, and $140.00 reinstatement fee) We DO NOT accept applications and/or payments by email due to security reasons. Who We Are The Alaska Real Estate Commission consists of five real estate brokers or associate brokers and two public members. The Commission also approves education courses and instructors, makes final licensing decisions and takes disciplinary action against those who violate licensing laws. The Commission meets quarterly and offers a public comment period at each meeting. Agendas for upcoming Commission meetings are available on this website. Fraud Alert: Impersonation of Licensing Unit or Licensing Investigations Unit Some applicants or licensees may receive a fraudulent email asking them to submit documents via a link provided in the email. These emails look very legitimate. If you are not expecting us to contact you or question the legitimacy of a communication from us, please reach out to us at 907-269-8124 to confirm. Additionally, some licensees have recently reported being contacted by individuals falsely claiming to represent the Professional Licensing Investigations Unit. These callers or emailers allege that the licensee’s name is associated with criminal activity in multiple states. Please be advised: These communications are fraudulent.
