Board of Dental Examiners Board Members The Board of Dental Examiners consists of nine members appointed by Governor: Six licensed dentists who have engaged in the practice of dentistry in the state for five years immediately preceding appointment; two dental hygienists who have engaged in the practice of dentistry in the state for five years immediately preceding appointment; and one public member. Members are appointed for staggered terms of four years. Members serve until they are replaced or resign.
