Outcome

The annexation of 25.58 square miles was approved after an amendment by the LBC, which excluded all but 4.58 square miles which consisted of Miller's Landing and the urban area. The annexation received tacit approval of the legislature. The use of legislative review for city annexation was challenged and upheld in the courts.
