Office of the State Assessor The mission of the Office of the State Assessor (OSA) is to advise and assist municipalities on assessment and taxation issues, develop the annual Full Value Determination (FVD), provide taxation and assessment education, administer the Senior Citizen and Disabled Veteran Property Tax Exemption Program, and monitor municipal assessment and taxation practices and procedures. The Office of the State Assessor provides the following: The annual compilation and publication of Alaska Taxable, a document that presents a wide range of assessment and taxation information for Alaskan municipalities Provides educational training for assessment personnel Provides Board of Equalization Training Formulates assessment standards required by law, in concert with the Alaska Association of Assessing Officers (AAAO) Alaska Taxable Database What's New! Property Tax 101 2023 Alaska Taxable Farm Use Assessment Applications will no longer be sent to the State Assessor's Office for income verification.
