Annual Filing & Premium Tax Forms


Accredited Reinsurer Assuming Alien Insurer (Trust Reinsurer)

A reinsurer that meets the requirements of AS 21.12.020(a)(4) and wants to be recognized as an assuming alien insurer in Alaska should submit the following items by March 1 of each year:

1. Statements showing the balance of the trust and listing the trust's investments at the end of the preceding year

2. Certification of the date of termination of the trust, if so planned, or certification that the trust does not expire before the following December 31

3. Financial Statement substantially the same as the NAIC format

4. Certificate of Assuming Insurer (AR-1): Form 08-238

Submit Form 08-210AIF postmarked on or before March 1 of each year with the annual continuation fee of $200 (resident) or $500 (nonresident) to:

Reciprocal Insurer Reciprocal Jurisdiction Reinsurer

A reinsurer that meets the requirements of AS 21.12.020 and 3 AAC 21.659 and wants to be recognized as a reciprocal jurisdiction reinsurer in Alaska should submit the following items by December 31 of each year:

  1. The completed Uniform Checklist for Reciprocal Jurisdictional Reinsurers available at www.naic.org under Listing of Certified and Reciprocal Jurisdiction Reinsurers.
  2. The completed Form RJ-1 Certificate of Reinsurer Domiciled in Reciprocal Jurisdiction available at www.naic.org under Listing of Certified and Reciprocal Jurisdiction Reinsurers.
  3. Lead State Approval/Authorization Letter.

Title Insurer Unauthorized Insurer's Tax Form

Alaska’s preferred method of receiving the form and payment is through OPTins. If by paper, the Tax Report Form 08-1240 is to be postmarked on or before March 1 of each year with the tax payment.
