Notice of Adopted and Filed Changes to the Regulations of the Alaska Board of Chiropractic Examiners

On May 3, 2024, the Board of Chiropractic Examiners adopted regulation changes in Title 12, Chapter 16 of the Alaska Administrative Code. The regulations concern updates dealing with the Alaska state examination for chiropractors and clarifying continuing education requirements for recent graduates.

The regulation changes were reviewed and approved by the Department of Law, signed and filed by the Office of the Lieutenant Governor on May 29, 2024, and are effective on June 28, 2024. Please click here to see the filed version of the regulations.

The regulation changes will first appear in Register 250, July 2024 of the Alaska Administrative Code.

Hard Copy License Certificates Discontinued

The division has expanded our online services to allow licensees to download their own license certificates on demand. As a result, the division no longer mails hardcopy license certificates. The certificates will be located under the “initial application” and “renewal” events in the MY LICENSE account.

Examination Update

Examination administration has been updated. Please click here to view the changes on the Board’s examinations page.

In the interest of the public safety the Board of Chiropractic Examiners:

  • adopts regulations governing the practice of chiropractic in Alaska
  • makes final licensing decisions and takes disciplinary actions against people who violate licensing laws
  • is staffed by the Division of Corporations, Business and Professional Licensing
  • consists of four licensed chiropractic physicians and one public member
  • are appointed by the Governor and confirmed by the Legislature
  • meets a minimum of two times a year and offers a public comment period at each meeting
